“Intel Processor Identification Utility”是Intel官方推出的一款处理器识别工具，可以检测出多种Intel处理器的信息，极具权威性，是Intel用户的必备工具。

　　Intel Processor Identification Utility支持Pentium 4、Pentium D、Pentium EE、Pentium 4 EE、Pentium M、Core 2 Duo、Core 2 Quad、Core 2 Extreme、Core Duo、Core Solo、Celeron M、Celeron、Mobile Pentium 4、Mobile Celeron、Xeon等各种桌面、笔记本和服务器处理器，不过对于Pentium III或者更古老的型号，需要使用“Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility”。

　　Intel Processor Identification Utility今天又更新到了3.7版，进一步丰富了支持的处理器型号，包括最新发布的1333MHz Core 2 Duo E6x50系列和Tigerton Xeon 7300系列。

　　需要注意的是，处理器电源管理功能会因为自动调节批量来实现节能，因此会干扰频率检测，结果将可能是频率的偏高或偏低，因此需要暂时关闭这一功能，重启系统再重新检测。
